- Kapitel 132 -

Remember David's affliction

1
Yahweh, do not forget King David and all the hardships he endured!
2
He made a solemn promise to you, the mighty God whom our ancestor Jacob worshiped.
3
He said, “I will not go home, I will not rest on my bed,
4
and I will not sleep at all
5
until I build a place for Yahweh, a home for the mighty God whom Jacob worshiped.”
6
In Ephrathah we heard where the sacred chest was. So we went and found it near the city of Kiriath Jearim, and we took it to Jerusalem.
7
Later we said, “Let us go to the sacred tent of Yahweh in Jerusalem; let us worship there in front of the throne where he is sitting.”
8
Yahweh, come to the place where you live eternally, to the place where your sacred chest is, to the place that shows that you are very powerful.
9
I want that the righteous behavior of your priests will always be evident, and that your people will always shout joyfully.
10
You chose David to serve you as king of Israel; do not reject him!
11
Yahweh, you made a solemn promise to David, a promise that you will not break. You said, “I will cause your descendants to rule as kings like you.
12
If they obey my covenant with them and obey all the commands that I will give them, the line of kings descended from you will never end.”
13
Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem; that is where he wants to rule from.
14
He said, “This is the city where I will live forever; this is the place where I want to stay.
15
I will give to the people of Jerusalem all that they need; I will give enough food to satisfy even the poor people there.
16
I will cause the priests to behave in a manner worthy of ones whom I have saved; and all my people who live there will shout joyfully.
17
There in Jerusalem I will cause one of David’s descendants to become a great king; he also will be my chosen king. It is there that I will make David’s line of descendants continue.
18
I will defeat his enemies and cause them to be very ashamed; but the crown that my king wears will always shine.”

Erinnere dich an Davids Trübsal

Stufengesang. Gedenke, Herr! Davids und all seiner Geduld,
2
wie er dem Herrn geschworen, dem Gott Jakobs gelobt hat:
3
Nicht will ich in das Gezelt meines Hauses treten, will nicht das Lager meines Bettes besteigen,
4
will meinen Augen keinen Schlaf gönnen noch meinen Augenlidern Schlummer
5
und meinen Schläfen keine Ruhe, bis ich eine Stätte gefunden für den Herrn, eine Wohnung für den Gott Jakobs.
6
Siehe, wir hörten von ihr in Ephrata; wir fanden sie im Waldgefilde.
7
Lasset uns in sein Zelt eingehen, anbeten an dem Orte, wo seine Füße stehen.
8
Erhebe dich, Herr! zu deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Heiligkeit!
9
Deine Priester mögen sich in Gerechtigkeit kleiden, deine Heiligen frohlocken!
10
Um Davids, deines Dieners, willen weise das Antlitz deines Gesalbten nicht ab!
11
Der Herr schwor David getreue Verheißung und wird sie nicht brechen: „Von deines Leibes Frucht werde ich auf deinen Thron setzen.“
12
Wenn deine Söhne meinen Bund bewahren und diese meine Zeugnisse, welche ich sie lehre, so sollen auch ihre Söhne für und für auf deinem Throne sitzen.
13
Ja, der Herr hat Sion auserwählt, hat es auserwählt zu seiner Wohnung.
14
Dies ist meine Ruhestätte auf ewig, hier will ich wohnen, denn ich habe sie erkoren.
15
Seine Witwen will ich reichlich segnen, seine Armen mit Brot sättigen.
16
Seine Priester will ich mit Heil kleiden, seine Heiligen sollen frohlockend jubeln.
17
Dort will ich Davids Horn wachsen lassen, eine Leuchte zurichten meinem Gesalbten.
18
Seine Feinde will ich in Schmach hüllen, über ihm aber soll meine Heiligung erblühen.
