- Kapitel 8 -

Now Benjamin begat Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, and Aharah the third,

Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth.

And the sons of Bela were, Addar, and Gera, and Abihud,(a)

And Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah,

And Gera, and Shephuphan, and Huram.(b)

And these are the sons of Ehud: these are the heads of the fathers of the inhabitants of Geba, and they removed them to Manahath:

And Naaman, and Ahiah, and Gera, he removed them, and begat Uzza, and Ahihud.

And Shaharaim begat children in the country of Moab, after he had sent them away; Hushim and Baara were his wives.

And he begat of Hodesh his wife, Jobab, and Zibia, and Mesha, and Malcham,

And Jeuz, and Shachia, and Mirma. These were his sons, heads of the fathers.

And of Hushim he begat Abitub, and Elpaal.

The sons of Elpaal; Eber, and Misham, and Shamed, who built Ono, and Lod, with the towns thereof:

Beriah also, and Shema, who were heads of the fathers of the inhabitants of Aijalon, who drove away the inhabitants of Gath:

And Ahio, Shashak, and Jeremoth,

And Zebadiah, and Arad, and Ader,

And Michael, and Ispah, and Joha, the sons of Beriah;

And Zebadiah, and Meshullam, and Hezeki, and Heber,

Ishmerai also, and Jezliah, and Jobab, the sons of Elpaal;

And Jakim, and Zichri, and Zabdi,

And Elienai, and Zilthai, and Eliel,

And Adaiah, and Beraiah, and Shimrath, the sons of Shimhi;(c)

And Ishpan, and Heber, and Eliel,

And Abdon, and Zichri, and Hanan,

And Hananiah, and Elam, and Antothijah,

And Iphedeiah, and Penuel, the sons of Shashak;

And Shamsherai, and Shehariah, and Athaliah,

And Jaresiah, and Eliah, and Zichri, the sons of Jeroham.

These were heads of the fathers, by their generations, chief men. These dwelt in Jerusalem.

And at Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon; whose wife’s name was Maachah:(d)

And his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Nadab,

And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zacher.(e)

And Mikloth begat Shimeah. And these also dwelt with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against them.(f)

The Family of Saul

And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi–shua, and Abinadab, and Esh–baal.(g)

And the son of Jonathan was Merib–baal; and Merib–baal begat Micah.(i)

And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz.(j)

And Ahaz begat Jehoadah; and Jehoadah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza,(k)

And Moza begat Binea: Rapha was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son:(l)

And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.

And the sons of Eshek his brother were, Ulam his firstborn, Jehush the second, and Eliphelet the third.

And the sons of Ulam were mighty men of valour, archers, and had many sons, and sons’ sons, an hundred and fifty. All these are of the sons of Benjamin.

Der Stammbaum des Königs Saul von Benjamin

Benjamin aber zeugte Bale, seinen Erstgeborenen, Asbel, als zweiten, Ahara als dritten,

Nohaa als vierten und Rapha als fünften.

Und die Söhne Bales waren: Addar, Gera, Abiud,

Abisue, Naaman, Ahoe,

ferner Gera, Sephuphan und Huram.

Dies sind die Söhne Ahods, die Fürsten der Familien, die in Gabaa wohnten und nach Manahath weggeführt wurden.

Naaman, Achia und Gera; dieser führte sie hinweg und er zeugte Oza und Ahiud.

Und Saharaim zeugte im Lande Moab, nachdem er seine Frauen Husim und Bara entlassen hatte.

Er zeugte aber mit seinem Weibe Hodes Jobab, Sebia, Mosa, Molchom,

Jehus, Sechia und Marma. Das sind seine Söhne, Fürsten in ihren Familien.

Mehusim aber zeugte Abitob und Elphaal.

Die Söhne Elphaals waren: Heber, Misaam und Samad; dieser erbaute Ono und Lod und dessen Töchterstädte.

Baria und Sama aber waren Fürsten der Familien, welche in Ajalon wohnten; diese vertrieben die Einwohner Geths.

Und Ahio, Sesak, Jerimoth,

Zabadia, Arod, Heder,

Michael, Jespha, Joha, die Söhne Barias.

Und Zabadia, Mosollam, Hezeki, Heber,

Jesamari, Jezlia, und Jobab, die Söhne Elphaals,

und Jakim, Zechri, Zabdi,

Elioenai, Selethai, Eliel,

Adaja, Baraja und Samarath, die Söhne Semeis.

Und Jespham, Heber, Eliel,

Abdon, Zechri, Hanan,

Hanania, Alam, Anathothia,

Jephdaja und Phanuel, die Söhne Sesaks.

Und Samsari, Sohoria, Otholia,

Jersia, Elia und Zechri, die Söhne Jerohams.

Dies waren die Erzväter und die Fürsten der Geschlechter, welche in Jerusalem wohnten.

In Gabaon aber wohnten Abigabaon, sein Weib hieß Maacha,

und sein erstgeborener Sohn Abdon, dann Sur, Kis Baal, Nadab,

Gedor, Ahio, Zacher und Makelloth.

Makelloth zeugte Samaa und sie wohnten mit ihren Brüdern in Jerusalem, neben ihren Brüdern.

Ner aber zeugte Kis und Kis zeugte Saul. Saul zeugte Jonathan, Melchisua, Abinadab und Esbaal.

Der Sohn Jonathans aber war Meribbaal und Meribbaal zeugte Micha.

Die Söhne Michas waren: Phithon, Melech, Tharaa und Ahaz.

Und Ahaz zeugte Joada, Joada zeugte Alamath, Azmoth und Zamri; Zamri zeugte Mosa,

Mosa zeugte Banaa, dessen Sohn Rapha aber, von dem Elasa stammte, welcher Asel zeugte.

Asel aber hatte sechs Söhne, diese hießen: Ezrikam, Bokru, Ismahel, Saria, Obdia und Hanan; diese alle waren Söhne Asels.

Die Söhne Eseks aber, seines Bruders, waren Ulam, sein Erstgeborener, Jehus, der zweite, und Eliphalet, der dritte.

Und die Söhne Ulams waren tapfere, starke Männer, die mit großer Kraft den Bogen spannten und viele Söhne und Enkel hatten, bis zu hundertfünfzig. Diese alle sind Söhne Benjamins.
