- Kapitel 12 -

(Revelation 1:1–3)

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.(a)

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.(b)

And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?(d)

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.(e)

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.(f)

Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.(h)

Prophezeiung der Endzeit

(Offenbarung 1,1-3)

Zu jener Zeit aber wird Michael, der große Fürst, der für die Söhne deines Volkes einsteht, sich erheben; denn es wird eine Zeit kommen, wie keine gewesen, seitdem Völker sind, bis zu jener Zeit. Zur selben Zeit werden von deinem Volke alle errettet werden, die im Buche aufgeschrieben werden.

Und viele von denen, welche im Erdenstaube schlafen, werden erwachen, die einen zum ewigen Leben, die andern zur Schmach, um sie ewig zu schauen.

Die aber einsichtig waren, werden strahlen wie der Glanz der Himmelsfeste, und die, welche viele in der Gerechtigkeit unterweisen, wie die Sterne von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit.

Du aber, Daniel! Verschließe diese Aussprüche und versiegle das Buch bis zur bestimmten Zeit, sehr viele werden es durchforschen und die Erkenntnis wird sich reich mehren.

Und ich, Daniel, schaute, siehe, da standen zwei andere, einer diesseits des Ufers des Stromes und der andere am jenseitigen Ufer des Stromes.

Da sprach ich zu dem Manne, welcher in linnene Gewänder gekleidet war und über den Wassern des Flusses stand: Bis wann wird das Ende dieser wunderbaren Dinge sein?

Und ich hörte, wie der Mann, welcher in Linnen gekleidet war, der über den Wassern des Flusses stand, indem er seine Rechte und Linke gen Himmel erhob, beim ewig Lebenden schwur: Bis zu einer Zeit und zwei Zeiten und einer halben Zeit, wenn die Zerstreuung der Macht des heiligen Volkes aufs höchste gekommen ist, wird dies alles erfüllt werden.

Ich hörte, aber verstand es nicht. Und ich sprach: Mein Herr! was wird hiernach sein?

Er antwortete: Gehe, Daniel! Denn verschlossen und versiegelt sind die Aussprüche bis zur bestimmten Zeit.

Viele werden ausgeschieden, geläutert und wie im Feuer bewährt werden, aber die Frevler werden Frevel begehen und alle Gottlosen werden nicht zur Erkenntnis kommen, doch die Einsichtigen werden Erkenntnis erlangen.

Von der Zeit aber, da das beständige Opfer abgeschafft und der Greuel zur Verwüstung aufgestellt ist, sind tausend zweihundert und neunzig Tage.

Selig, wer harrt und das Ende von tausend dreihundert und fünfunddreißig Tagen erreicht!

Du aber wirst zu dem dir bestimmten Ende gelangen und ruhen, doch am Ende der Tage zu deinem Lose auferstehen. Bis hierher liest man Daniel in dem hebräischen Originale. Was nun folgt, bis zum Ende des Buches, ist aus der Ausgabe des Theodotion übersetzt.
