- Kapitel 6 -

(1 Samuel 21:1–7; Matthew 12:1–8; Mark 2:23–28)

And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.

And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?

And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;

How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?

And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

(Matthew 12:9–14; Mark 3:1–6)

And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.

Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

The Twelve Apostles

(Matthew 10:1–4; Mark 3:13–19)

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon called Zelotes,

And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

Jesus Heals the Multitudes

(Matthew 4:23–25; Mark 3:7–12)

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

The Beatitudes

(Psalm 1:1–6; Matthew 5:3–12)

And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Woes to the Satisfied

(Amos 6:1–7)

But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Love Your Enemies

(Matthew 5:38–48)

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judging Others

(Matthew 7:1–6; Romans 14:1–12)

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

A Tree and Its Fruit

(Matthew 7:15–23; Matthew 12:33–37)

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

The House on the Rock

(Matthew 7:24–27)

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Jesus ist Herr über den Sabbat

Es geschah aber an einem zweit-ersten Sabbate, dass er durch Saatfelder ging; und seine Jünger pflückten die Ähren ab, zerrieben sie mit den Händen, und aßen.

Da sprachen einige von den Pharisäern zu ihnen: Warum tut ihr, was am Sabbate nicht erlaubt ist?

Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr auch das nicht gelesen, was David getan hat, als ihn, und die bei ihm waren, hungerte?

Wie er in das Haus Gottes eintrat, die Schaubrote nahm und aß, und auch denen gab, die bei ihm waren, welche zu essen doch niemanden erlaubt ist, als nur den Priestern?

Und er sagte zu ihnen: Der Menschensohn ist Herr auch über den Sabbat.

Heilung am Sabbat

(Matthäus 12,9-14; Markus 3,1-6)

Es begab sich aber auch an einem anderen Sabbate, dass er in die Synagoge ging, und lehrte. Und es war daselbst ein Mensch, dessen rechte Hand war verdorrt.

Da gaben die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer acht, ob er am Sabbate heilen würde, damit sie etwas fänden, ihn anzuklagen.

Er aber wusste ihre Gedanken, und sprach zu dem Menschen, welcher die verdorrte Hand hatte: Stehe auf, und stelle dich in die Mitte! Und er stand auf, und stellte sich dahin.

Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich frage euch: Ist es erlaubt, am Sabbate Gutes zu tun, oder Böses? Ein Leben zu retten, oder zu verderben?

Und er blickte sie alle ringsum an, und sprach zu dem Menschen: Strecke deine Hand aus! Da streckte er sie aus, und seine Hand ward wieder gesund.

Sie aber kamen ganz von Sinnen, und besprachen sich untereinander, was sie Jesus antun könnten.

Die Zwölf Apostel

(Matthäus 10,1-4; Markus 3,13-19)

Es geschah aber in jenen Tagen, dass er hinaus ging auf den Berg, um zu beten; und er brachte die Nacht im Gebet mit Gott zu.

Und als es Tag geworden war, berief er seine Jünger, und erwählte zwölf aus ihnen (welche er auch Apostel nannte);

Simon, den er Petrus nannte, und Andreas, seinen Bruder, Jakobus und Johannes, Philippus und Bartholomäus,

Matthäus und Thomas, Jakobus, den Sohn des Alphäus, und Simon, mit dem Beinamen der Eiferer,

Judas, den Bruder des Jakobus, und Judas Iskariot, welcher ein Verräter wurde.

Jesus heilt eine große Menschenmenge

(Matthäus 4,23-25; Markus 3,7-12)

Und er stieg herab mit ihnen, und trat auf einen ebenen Platz, wo die Schar seiner Jünger, und eine große Menge Volkes von ganz Judäa, von Jerusalem, von der Meeresküste, und von Tyrus und Sidon war,

welche gekommen waren, um ihn zu hören, und von ihren Krankheiten geheilt zu werden. Auch die von unreinen Geistern geplagt wurden, wurden geheilt.

Und alles Volk trachtete ihn anzurühren; denn es ging eine Kraft von ihm aus, und heilte alle.

Die Seligpreisungen

(Psalm 1,1-6; Matthäus 5,3-12)

Da erhob er seine Augen auf seine Jünger, und sprach: Selig ihr, die Armen; denn euer ist das Reich Gottes!

Selig ihr, die ihr jetzt Hunger leidet; denn ihr werdet gesättigt werden! Selig ihr, die ihr jetzt weinet; denn ihr werdet lachen!

Selig werdet ihr sein, wenn euch die Menschen hassen, und wenn sie euch ausschliessen, schmähen, und euren Namen als bös verwerfen um des Menschensohnes willen.

Freuet euch an jenem Tage, und frohlocket! denn sehet, euer Lohn ist groß im Himmel; denn auf gleiche Weise haben ihre Väter an den Propheten gehandelt.

Jesus verkündet die Weisen

(Amos 6,1-7)

Doch wehe euch, ihr Reichen, denn ihr habt euern Trost!

Wehe euch, die ihr gesättiget seid; denn ihr werdet hungern! Wehe euch, die ihr jetzt lachet; denn ihr werdet trauern und weinen!

Wehe, wenn euch die Menschen lobpreisen! Denn ihre Väter haben ebenso an den falschen Propheten getan.

Liebt eure Feinde

(Matthäus 5,38-48)

Aber euch, die ihr mich höret, sage ich: Liebet eure Feinde; tuet Gutes denen, die euch hassen!

Segnet die, welche euch fluchen, und betet für die, welche euch verleumden!

Und wer dich auf die Wange schlägt, dem reiche auch die andere dar; und dem, der dir den Mantel nimmt, verweigere auch den Rock nicht!

Gib jedem, der dich bittet; und wer das Deine nimmt, von dem fordere es nicht zurück!

Und wie ihr wollet, dass euch die Leute tun, so tuet auch ihr ihnen desgleichen.

Wenn ihr die liebet, welche euch lieben, was für eine Vergeltung gebührt euch? Denn auch die Sünder lieben die, von welchen sie geliebt werden.

Und wenn ihr denen Gutes tuet, die euch Gutes tun, welche Vergeltung gebührt euch? Denn auch die Sünder tun dasselbe.

Und wenn ihr nur denen leihet, von welchen ihr wieder zu bekommen hoffet, welcher Lohn gebühret euch? Denn auch die Sünder leihen Sündern, dass sie Gleiches wieder erhalten.

Vielmehr, liebet eure Feinde; tuet Gutes, und leihet ohne dafür zu hoffen, so wird euer Lohn groß sein, und ihr werdet Kinder des Allerhöchsten sein; denn er ist gütig gegen die Undankbaren und Bösen.

Seid also barmherzig, wie auch euer Vater barmherzig ist!

Richtet nicht

(Matthäus 7,1-6; Römer 14,1-12)

Richtet nicht, so werdet ihr nicht gerichtet werden; verdammet nicht, so werdet ihr nicht verdammet werden; vergebet, so wird euch vergeben werden!

Gebet, so wird euch gegeben werden, ein gutes, ein eingedrücktes, gerütteltes und aufgehäuftes Maß wird man euch in den Schoß geben; denn mit demselben Maße, mit welchem ihr messet, wird euch wieder gemessen werden!

Er sagte ihnen aber auch ein Gleichnis: Kann wohl ein Blinder einen Blinden führen? Fallen sie nicht beide in die Grube?

Ein Jünger ist nicht über seinen Lehrer; jeder aber wird vollkommen sein, wenn er wie sein Lehrer ist.

Warum schaust du nach dem Splitter in deines Bruders Auge, des Balkens aber in deinem eigenen Auge wirst du nicht gewahr?

Oder wie kannst du zu deinem Bruder sagen: Bruder! lass mich den Splitter aus deinem Auge ziehen, während du selbst in deinem Auge den Balken nicht siehst? Du Heuchler! Ziehe zuvor den Balken aus deinem eigenen Auge; dann magst du sehen, dass du den Splitter aus deines Bruders Auge herausziehest.

Einen Baum erkennt man an seinen Früchten

(Matthäus 7,15-23; Matthäus 12,33-37)

Denn es gibt keinen guten Baum, der schlechte Früchte trägt, noch einen schlechten Baum, der gute Früchte trägt.

Denn ein jeder Baum wird an seiner Frucht erkannt. Denn von den Dornen sammelt man keine Feigen, und von der Dornenhecke liest man keine Trauben.

Der gute Mensch bringt aus dem gute Schatze seines Herzens das Gute hervor; und der böse Mensch bringt aus dem bösen Schatze das Böse hervor; denn aus der Fülle des Herzens redet der Mund.

Baut auf den Felsen

(Matthäus 7,24-27)

Was aber ruft ihr mich: Herr, Herr! und tuet nicht, was ich sage?

Jeder, der zu mir kommt und meine Rede hört, und sie tut, wem dieser gleich ist, das will ich euch zeigen.

Er ist gleich einem Manne, der ein Haus baute, der tief grub, und den Grund auf den Felsen legte. Als nun eine Überschwemmung kam, stieß der Strom an jenes Haus, und konnte es nicht erschüttern; denn es war auf den Felsen gegründet.

Wer aber hört, und nicht tut, der ist gleich einem Menschen, der sein Haus ohne Untergrund auf die Erde hinbaute; an dieses Haus stieß der Strom, und sogleich fiel es zusammen, und der Zusammensturz dieses Hauses ward groß.
