- Kapitel 7 -

(Matthew 10:34–39; Luke 12:49–53)

Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.(a)

The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.(b)

That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.(c)

The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

Israel’s Confession and Comfort

Therefore I will look unto the Lord ; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

I will bear the indignation of the Lord , because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.(d)

In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.

In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.(f)

Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.(g)

God’s Compassion on Israel

Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.(h)

According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.

The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.

They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of thee.(i)

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

Leid für Israels Sünden

(Matthäus 10,34-39; Lukas 12,49-53)

Wehe mir! denn es ist mir ergangen wie einem, der im Herbste nach der lese Trauben sammelt; keine Traube ist mehr da zum Essen, nach Frühfeigen verlangt meine Seele.

Verschwunden sind die Frommen aus dem Lande und Rechtschaffene sind nicht mehr unter den Menschen; alle lauern auf Blut, ein jeder stellt seinem Nächsten nach ihn zu morden.

Das Böse ihrer Hände nennen sie gut, der Fürst verlangt und der Richter richtet um Entgelt, der Große redet nach den Gelüsten seiner Seele, so verwirren sie Jerusalem.

Der Beste unter ihnen gleicht dem Dornstrauch und der Rechtschaffene dem Stachel einer Hecke, der Tag, der dir vorgesehen ward, deine Heimsuchung naht; jetzt wird Vernichtung über sie hereinbrechen.

Trauet dem Freunde nicht, setzet kein Vertrauen auf den Fürsten; vor dem Weibe, das an deinem Busen ruht, wahre die Pforte deines Mundes!

Denn der Sohn bereitet dem Vater Schmach, die Tochter lehnt sich auf wider ihre Mutter, die Schwiegertochter wider ihre Schwiegermutter, und des Mannes Feinde sind seine Hausgenossen.

Ich aber will ausschauen nach dem Herrn, harren auf Gott, meinen Heiland, erhören wird mich mein Gott.

Israels Bekenntnis und Trost

Freue dich nicht über mich, meine Feindin! Dass ich gefallen bin, ich werde wieder aufstehen; wenn ich auch in Finsternis sitze, ist doch der Herr mein Licht.

Den Grimm des Herrn will ich tragen, denn ich habe mich wider ihn versündigt, bis er meine Streitsache schlichtet und mir recht schafft. Er wird mich zum Lichte führen und ich werde seine Gerechtigkeit schauen.

Das soll meine Feindin sehen und mit Scham bedeckt werden, sie, die zu mir spricht: Wo ist der Herr, dein Gott? Meine Augen werden sich an ihr weiden, bald wird sie zertreten werden wie Gassenkot.

Es kommt der Tag, da deine Mauern wieder gebaut werden, an jenem Tage wird weit die Satzung entfernt.

An jenem Tage werden sie auch bis zu dir kommen von Assur bis zu den festen Städten und von den festen Städten bis zum Strome und von Meer zu Meer, von Gebirg zu Gebirg.

Das Land aber wird wegen ihrer Bewohner, ob der Frucht ihrer Anschläge, zur Wüste werden.

Gott verzeiht Israel

Weide dein Volk mit deinem Stabe, die Herde deines Erbes, die einsam Wohnenden, im Waldgebirge auf des Karmels Mitte; lass sie weiden in Basan und Galaad, wie in den Tagen der Vorzeit!

Wie in den Tagen, als du aus dem Lande Ägypten auszogst, will ich es Wunder schauen lassen.

Die Völker werden es sehen und zuschanden werden mit all ihrer Macht; sie werden die Hand auf den Mund legen, ihre Ohren werden taub.

Sie werden Staub lecken wie die Schlangen, wie das Gewürm der Erde aufgescheucht werden in ihren Häusern; vor dem Herrn, unserem Gott, werden sie beben, ja Dich fürchten.

Wer ist ein Gott, dir gleich, der du die Schuld wegnimmst und dem Überreste deines Erbes die Sünden nachsiehst? Er wird nicht ferner seinen Zorn auslassen, denn an Barmherzigkeit hat er Wohlgefallen.

Er wird sich wiederum unser erbarmen, er wird unsere Verschuldungen vernichten und alle unsere Sünden in die Tiefe des Meeres versenken.

Du wirst Jakob Wahrheit geben, Abraham Gnade, wie du unsern Vätern von alters her zugeschworen.
