- Chapter 131 -

I have brought my soul to rest

Lord , my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.(a) (b)

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.(c)

Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.(d)

LORD, my heart isn’t arrogant, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Israel, hope in the LORD, from this time forward and forever more.
