Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

And at the king’s commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the Lord .

He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.
Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.(d)
And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord , and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord , and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.(f)
And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber.
So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.
Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:(h)
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
